چکیده

The objective of this work is to show the potentiality of the Aitken-Schwarz domain decomposition method to simulate the transport of fluids solutions in heterogeneous underground mediums. To study the phenomenology of the hydraulic properties, we use a stochastic model, where the data are random variables according to a prescribed distribution. The techniques of homogenization to model the studied heterogeneous mediums do not apply, because characteristic scales do not exist. All the computing scales need to be taken in account and lead to develop extensible and effective numerical methods to analyze the effects of scalings. The physical modelling of the heterogeneous mediums leads to several types of difficulties even for the linear Darcy equation: { ∇.(k(x)∇h(x)) = f(x), x ∈ Ω ⊂ R Bh(x) = g(x), x ∈ ∂Ω (1)

Schwarz Methods for Simulation of THM Processes

In this paper, we first recall a previous favourable experience with the Schwarz type domain decomposition methods applied to problems of heat flow and elasticity [9, 11, 12] and then discuss a possible use of these methods for solving Darcy flow problems.

Simulation of Ideal External and Internal Flows with Arbitrary Boundaries Using Schwarz Christoffel Transformation

The flow field, velocity and pressure coefficient distribution of some 2-D ideal flows are presented. Conformal mapping is used to simulate two-dimensional ideal flow for a variety of complex internal and external configurations, based on the numerical integration of Schwarz-Christoffel transformation. The advantages of this method are simplicity and high accuracy. The method presented in this ...

Lagrange-Schwarz Waveform Relaxation domain decomposition methods for linear and nonlinear quantum wave problems

A Schwarz Waveform Relaxation (SWR) algorithm is proposed to solve by Domain Decomposition Method (DDM) linear and nonlinear Schrödinger equations. The symbols of the transparent fractional transmission operators involved in Optimized Schwarz Waveform Relaxation (OSWR) algorithms are approximated by low order Lagrange polynomials to derive Lagrange-Schwarz Waveform Relaxation (LSWR) algorithms ...

Preconditioners for regularized saddle point problems with an application for heterogeneous Darcy flow problems

Saddle point problems arise in the modelling of many important practical problems. Preconditioners for the corresponding matrices on block triangular form, based on coupled inner-outer iteration methods are analyzed and applied to a Darcy flow problem, possibly with strong heterogeneity and to non-symmetric saddle point problems. Using proper regularized forms of the given matrix and its precon...

Approximating the Trace of Iterative Solutions at the Interfaces with Nonuniform Fourier Transform and Singular Value Decomposition for Cost-effectively Accelerating the Convergence of Schwarz Domain Decomposition

This paper deals with the representation of the trace of iterative Schwarz solutions at the interfaces of domain decomposition to approximate adaptively the interface error operator. This allows to build a cost-effectively accelerating of the convergence of the iterative method by extending to the vectorial case the Aitken’s accelerating convergence technique. The first representation is based ...
